With expertise in medication management, I work closely with patients to ensure they receive tailored prescriptions and optimal dosages to effectively manage their symptoms. By staying informed about the latest advancements in psychiatric medications and understanding each patient's unique needs and preferences, I strive to minimize side effects while maximizing therapeutic benefits, promoting stability and improved quality of life.
Recognizing the significant impact of diet on mental health and overall well-being, I integrate nutrition into my treatment approach. Through personalized dietary assessments and education, I help patients make informed choices that support mental wellness. By emphasizing whole, nutrient-dense foods and minimizing processed ingredients, we can optimize brain function and mood regulation, laying a foundation for long-term mental health.
In addition to dietary interventions, I offer supplementation recommendations to address specific nutritional deficiencies and support mental health. Whether it's ensuring adequate intake of essential vitamins and minerals known to influence mood, cognition, and stress response, or exploring targeted supplements backed by scientific evidence, I empower patients to enhance their mental well-being through comprehensive nutritional support.
Regular physical activity is a part of my treatment philosophy for promoting mental wellness. By incorporating exercise into personalized treatment plans, I emphasize its role in reducing stress, improving mood, and enhancing cognitive function. Whether it's through aerobic activities or strength training, I encourage patients to find enjoyable ways to stay active, fostering resilience and vitality in their mental health journey.
Quality sleep is essential for mental health and overall well-being, which is why I offer guidance on improving sleep hygiene and addressing sleep disorders. Through evidence-based strategies, I help patients cultivate healthy sleep habits and address underlying issues contributing to sleep disturbances. By prioritizing restorative sleep, we can optimize mood regulation, cognitive performance, and emotional resilience, paving the way for improved mental health outcomes.
I provide supportive therapy utilizing a client-centered approach that prioritizes empathy, validation, and active listening. Through supportive therapy, I aim to create a safe and nonjudgmental space where patients can explore their thoughts, feelings, and experiences. By fostering a trusting therapeutic relationship, I empower individuals to gain insight, develop coping skills, and navigate life's challenges with resilience. Additionally, I offer a Christian-based approach to therapy for those who seek integration of faith into their healing journey. Drawing upon biblical principles and values, I provide holistic support for mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being.
I use functional and nutritional lab testing to uncover imbalances and tailor treatments. These tests evaluate biomarkers like neurotransmitters, hormones, inflammation, and nutrition. By combining test results with clinical assessment, I can pinpoint root causes of mental health symptoms and create targeted interventions. Whether it's correcting nutrient deficiencies or balancing hormones, these tests enable a precise, evidence-based treatment approach, promoting holistic wellness.
Food allergen testing is vital for pinpointing potential triggers for mental health symptoms and guiding dietary interventions. Using specialized methods, I assess sensitivities to common allergens like gluten, dairy, soy, and additives. Eliminating problematic foods can reduce inflammation, gastrointestinal issues, anxiety, depression, and mood swings. This testing informs personalized dietary plans, enhancing mental health and overall well-being.
During this call, we'll assess our compatibility for working together. You'll share your reasons for seeking care and preferences for treatment or support. I'll explain my approach and address any questions you have. If you decide to proceed, we'll schedule your initial consultation.
You'll receive forms for our initial consultation, covering lifestyle, medical history, goals, and symptoms. Your responses are reviewed beforehand to ensure a productive first appointment. Additionally, the online patient portal enables secure messaging, document sharing, refill requests, and appointment scheduling.
Our first appointment will last 90 minutes, which is longer than typical psychiatry offices where initial visits are usually 30-60 minutes. This extended time allows you to fully share your story and provide crucial details about how your symptoms impact your life. I'll ask questions to uncover the root issues, understand you better, and screen for specific conditions. Together, we'll establish goals and identify areas for intervention. By the end of the visit, you'll have a tailored action plan that may include lab work, symptom tracking, lifestyle adjustments, additional screenings, and initial treatment recommendations.
After completing any recommended lab work, I'll review the results to help pinpoint the root causes of your symptoms. If you've seen a psychiatrist or psychotherapist before, I'll reach out to them for a comprehensive history. Any additional screening forms provided after our initial visit will also be reviewed.
Follow-up appointments can be either 25 or 50 minutes, based on your support needs, situation complexity, and whether psychotherapy is involved. These visits are typically scheduled every 2-4 weeks initially, then every 1-3 months for long-term patients, though this may vary based on your support preferences and symptom severity. During appointments, we'll review your progress, address concerns about your treatment plan, and make necessary adjustments. Throughout your care, we'll continuously refine your treatment plan to achieve the best results efficiently.
